How To Add Reviews to Google Shopping Ads

In this post, I'll explain how to get Google Star reviews on your Google Shopping ads using the app Judge.me. This is a simple process, and I'll provide step-by-step instructions to help you along the way.

Choose the Right Plan

Choose the Right Plan

Make sure you're on a paid plan with Judge.me. The free plan doesn't allow you to create the necessary feed to connect to Google Merchant Center. You need the features that come with the paid plan.

Gather Reviews

Next, you need to have at least 50 verified reviews on your website. This is important because Google requires a minimum number of reviews before you can qualify for product ratings.

Fill Out the Google Merchant Center Application

Now, it's time to fill out the Google Merchant Center application.

  1. Go to the application form.
  2. Select "Yes" when asked if you work with an approved third-party review aggregator.
  3. Choose the option that says you want to submit the feed from a supported partner directly in the Merchant Center.

After you fill out the form, submit it. You'll usually receive approval very quickly—often within just a few minutes.

Connect to Google Merchant Center

Once you receive your approval email, log in to your Google Merchant Center account. You'll want to create a review feed there.

  2. In the app section, find and click on Judge.me.
  3. Go to "Marketing and Social" and then "Google and SEO."
  4. In the Google Shopping section, click on "Generate new review feed."

Follow the instructions provided closely. Judge.me is user-friendly, so you should find this easy.

  2. Name your feed something like "Judge.me Reviews."
  3. Make sure to select "Schedule fetch" for automatic updates.
Input the File URL

Input the File URL

In the file section, you must enter the XML URL from Judge.me. This is how the review feed connects to the Google Merchant Center.

  1. Copy the XML URL.
  2. Paste it into the file URL section.
  3. Click "Create feed" once you've inputted everything correctly.
Check the Status

Check the Status

Your Judge.me review feed should be connected to Google Merchant Center. If you see a status that says "inactive," don't worry. This means Google needs to manually review your account first, which can take about four to six weeks.

Conclusion

You've successfully added reviews to your Google Shopping ads. I recommend starting this process as soon as you onboard a new client, as it can take some time to see results.
